On Saturday may 3rd me and my dad decided to go play Inwood golf course, we had never played it before and we were very excited to expand our golf course map. When we got to the course we were put behind a group of older guys and there was six of them. they were so slow and they took forever to play threw the first hole and by the time they finished we were just about finish as well. on the first hole I got a doble bogey which is never the way you want to start a round. When we got to the 2nd tee box the group was waiting and said we could go in front of them. We flew through that hole and I ended up bogeying it, not great but not bad. The next few holes went ok i bogeyed hole 3 and pared 4 then bogeyed 6 I was exhausted and wiped but i knew i had to keep going. the final 3 holes I pared 7 bogeyed 8 and pared 9. I had already got more pars in the front nine than I ever have had. My score threw 9 was a 44 so 7 over which is my best nine holes ever.

Before we started the back nine, we drove over to the pro shop to get some drinks, I ordered a water and a diet Pepsi. Hoping the diet Pepsi would fuel me we drove up to the tee box and i see it is a par three. I grab my 5 iron and stick it right on the green about 20 feet from the hole. because I know I’m probably not going to sink it i just put it close and tap it in for par. I also par the 11th and bogeyed the 12th. I walk up to the 13th hole and it is just a pretty basic par 4 with a small dog leg left. I pull out my driver and crank it right down the fairway about 200 yards. i get to my ball and range the green, it is about 100 yards to the pin so I grab my pitching wedge and I hit the ball within ten feet. the green is sloping a little left to right so I line up my ball and hit it. Yes the ball drops and i am filled with excitement because it is my first ever birdie. I bogey the next 2 holes and par 16. We were onto the final 2 holes and I knew that i had to play pretty good to beat my dad and that’s exactly what I did, I bogeyed the final two an beat him. In the car i tallied up the score and I shot an 84. The best round of my life

Cell phones are the invention of a century and we pay lots of money each year to be able to text call and use it but for six and a half hours a day five days a week you expect us to just turn it off and not use it. the school year is 193 days of our lives learning random knowledge that we may or may not use in our future. we should at least be able to look at our phone 2-3 times a day to text family or friends. The teachers these days are so strict in the cell phone ban but it is so annoying for the students.

Emergencies happen in life and you are suppose to know about them but when your cell phone is turned off and not allowed to use it then how are you suppose to know. When we tell that too teachers or the principle all they say, ” if there’s an emergency then your family needs to call the office not you.” I think that is dumb because I personally don’t want the office to know about all my personal troubles or life issues.

Your grade in classes affect whether or not I think the teachers should let you check your phone or not. If you are above a 70% or so you should be able to check your phone every once in a while. If you are in the higher marks and somewhere around there then I don’t see a problem because you can still listen while on your phone, and as long as you aren’t overly abusing the time your given there is no problem. If you are in the almost failing to completely failing than it is a straight no to cell phones, you gotta catch up on your work. it is often the ones with lower marks that are desperate for cell phone use. I am not desperate I am writing this piece for the betterment of the school.

Cell phones are an every day item that I feel are mandatory to our life. so many people in this school would love if the cell phone ban got erased. I do see some troubles that could come up but you don’t need to make a whole ban about it. An idea if kids a overly abusing there time could be take it away for the day or make them hand it in at the beginning of the day. This is why the cell phone ban should be lifted

Every year a competition is held nationally where hockey rinks from the us and Canada can enter it and get a chance to win $250 000 and an NHL game gets played in there rink. I’ve always wanted Riverton rink to enter into the competition and tis year they finally have. How it works is you enter your rink into the competition then you can tell a story you have of the rink or you can post pictures and you get a certain amount of points from pictures and stories. the top three rinks at the end will then get voted on by people and the winning team gets $250 000 and an NHL game will get played in the rink

I have played hockey for 7 years now but I still remember my first year playing it was the happiest I’ve ever been. But for the past 3 years I haven’t been happy playing hockey because Riverton hasn’t had enough people for a team because equipment is to expensive but mostly covid screwed everything up and people got out of shape or found different hobbies and then just decided to hang up the skate. If Riverton had $250 000 they could help to pay for equipment for some players, upgrade there rink and maybe even get a fitness room to get people back in shape.

Reggie Leach was an NHL player that lived in Riverton way back when and he would play hockey everyday in that rink and even going as far as to sneak into the rink at night so he could work on his shot. When he made it to the NHL draft he got drafted by Boston and then got traded to Philadelphia where he made a huge splash winning the conn Smyth one year but lost in Stanley cup final but then won a Stanley cup later in his career. In his career he had 666 point so he had a more than ok career.

Riverton rink could use this money the most out of any rink there it is basically falling apart and has no money so this is why we should win it

The Winnipeg jets at the half way mark of the season are sitting atop the NHL riding an 8 game winning streak coming into the break. The team is playing the best hockey of the franchise’s history. They have amazing defence amazing offence and arguably the best goalie on the planet right now in Conner Hellebuyck. The jets have depth all through their lineup while most other teams do not.one more thing that separates jets from most other teams is that all of the players want to play in Winnipeg.

The jets offence is definitely a sight to see. They move the puck around so smoothly and swiftly that mode team can’t do anything about it. Usually the offence try’s to either set up one timers or get in close and shoot it. Another reason the jets are able to score so many goals is because of their power play, it is working so well because unlike many other years where it was just get it to Kyle Conner for a one timer but this year the have lots off options. They could give it to Vilardi in the crease area, they could give it to Scheifele and Conner for one timers , they could also give it to the defenceman for a shot or to distribute the puck. The jets offence has been on fire this year showing no signs of stopping.

the jets defence is almost better than their offence because of one thing inperticuler Conner Hellebuyck he is the backbone of the team stoping almost every shot that comes his way most people consider him the best goalie in the nhl and some even think on the planet. But its not just hellebuyck that keep the puck from going in the net it is also thanks to the defence that the jets play it is an extremely simple style that is effective and amazing.

the jets have depth throughout the entire line up. If you don’t know what that is it is basically when you have all really solid players instead of having 1 or 2 superstars. Take Edmonton for example they have 2 superstars that they have to spend lots of money on and so they don’t have much money to get a good goalie and 3rd and 4th line which makes it so only the 1st and 2nd lines contribute oftenly. The jets for example have no extremely good superstars so they have a good goalie and all 4 lines are solid.

Ronald woke up on a crisp November morning on the 11th to go deer hunting on opening day of rifle season. Ronald smashed his stop alarm button on his phone and got out of bed. he gets all bundled up in his hunting cloths because it is -25 outside. Ronald went to the kitchen and grabbed out the peanut butter and jelly to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. When Ronald was done making his coffee and pb and j he got his 300 win mag and some ammunition then he walks into the woods.as he is walking through the woods he can see tracks and rubs all over. the air smells like fresh deer urine.

when Ronald arrives at his blind it is almost legal shooting light and Ronald starts to rattle. rattling is a way of calling bucks in, it is suppose to imitate to bucks fighting so other bucks will come to check it out. by the time sunrise rolls around the field is filled with deer and some of them were bucks but they were smaller and he was only shooting a trophy buck this year and he keeps waiting. As the sun rises slowly goes higher and higher into the sky the deer slowly disappear into the woods and Ronald starts to think that he just lost his chance at a buck for today but just before he is about to leave, a doe sprints into the field hopping all over the place. then out of the woods came a massive buck sprinting after the doe.

Ronald has to decide whether he is going to try and shoot the deer as its walking and his temptations get to him. he pulls the rifle up to his shoulder and puts his eye to the scope . He then finds the deer in his scope, lines it up to the heart and pulls the trigger. the deer ducks down which usually means you hit it good but Ronald still reloads the gun and shots it again because with big game you want to shoot it till its down. after the third shot the deer runs into the woods and crashes down. with deer and other big game you want to give it 30 minutes to an hour to fully die. so as Ronald is waiting he is filled with excitement and adrenaline because he just shot his biggest deer ever. Ronald approaches the deer cautiously with his gun loaded. he can see the rack sticking up out of the grass and he runs over to it. but that was a mistake the deer immidiatly stands up and runs straight and Ronald and stabs Ronald right in the middle of the chest with his massive rack.

It was a crisp morning in September when Harold finally decided to go goose hunting with his friends. Harold was 23 years old and he had never been goose hunting. Harold has hunted his entire life and has lots of experience around guns and dead animals but he had never in his life been goose hunting. Harold live in a small town on the edge of Minnesota where the deer hunting is great. his friends every year for one whole week in September go to north Dakota to hunt geese in fields. Harold had always been to busy to go with them but this year was different. He had took off work for the week and bought a new shotgun and 7 boxes of shells. they had a 3 hour road trip ahead of them so Harold made sure to bring his eye mask for sleeping.

They arrived at the friends hunting cabin that they had bought a few years ago, it was on 5 acers of bush and forest. Harold and his friends unloaded the car and put it all in the cabin. Harold didn’t really want to do any more driving tonight but he knew that he must go with his friends scouting. they started driving around and immediately started seeing fields with birds in it. they took a backroad down to a dead end and at the end of the road was a fresh cut corn field that was just covered in geese. “That is a lot of geese,” says Jonny, “If we can get permission then that is were we will hunt.” they get back to the cabin and check the landowner map and find out that it is an old friend of Darrel’s from high school so he rings him up and askes to hunt in it and he Sayed we could. before we Harold goes to bed, Jonny says to him, I think you’ll get one tomorrow.

“Harold wake up,” Darrel yells in my face. “I’m awake” i say as i get out of my bed. there is a pot of coffee on the counter so Harold pours himself a glass and grabs hi premade peanut butter and jelly sandwich and hops into the car. Once they get to the field it is about 1 hour before shooting time and so the start setting up the decoys and blinds. They were final set up and ready to get in there blinds.

Not long after in turned into legal shooting light, the sky was just flooded with birds. “Get ready for a good hunt my brain is telling Harold. The first flock that came in came right into the decoys from the front which makes for easy shots. When Darrel yelled take ‘em Harold sprung out of his blind, aimed at the bird and fired. He watched as the bird flopped onto the ground with a thud. Harold was so happy, he could barely wait to se how majestic his first goose looked. He stood up to go get it and he realized it was a perfect shot, straight through the head. Harold and his three friends ended up getting a four man limit which is 32 geese which is a lot. They hunted way more on that trip but the First was the best.

You know what would make Riverton a better town than it already is. A golf simulator would really get Riverton folks excited and better at golf. Golf is a great sport that I believe everyone should have the opportunity to play and enjoy. A golf simulator is the perfect thing for beginners to just be able hit balls for hours. A golf simulator would also be a great business idea. Although you don’t get the same experience as you do on a normal course because your playing indoors. However you can play and not have to worry about stuff like losing a ball or hitting somebody with a ball.

What is a golf simulator? A golf sim is a digital golf game. So basically there is a hitting mat that you place the ball on the you have the launch monitor in the correct spot. A launch monitor is the brains of the operation, it has a censor that tracks how fast the club is moving and the club it also tracks a ton of other stuff. You then have a projected course onto the hitting wall which is almost like a tarp that you hit golf balls against.

Although golf simulators are pretty expensive you could make back your money. If you put up an ad on facebook and said “golf simulator renting,” then i’m sure people would come to it and play. I’ve done the math and if you bought a golf simulator for $5000 then you could charge people $25 an hour per person. Say you got 4 people a week to come and play that means $100 a week which means in 50 weeks you could have your money back and then just be making bank. I think running a golf simulator business is a great idea.

You can play almost any course in the world on a simulator. Say you’ve always made it a tradition to watch the masters every year because the course is so majestic. Well if Riverton had a golf sim you wouldn’t have to dream of playing it any more, you could just do it. Personally my favorite courses and the course I want to play the most is pebble beach, it is just a magnificent and iconic course. A golf simulator would be the perfect hangout area. If you were ever bored during winter then you could go to the sim with your friends a play a fun round of golf.

Fly fishing is a cool and exhilarating way to fish. in fly fishing you have a long rod that is more flexible than a normal fishing rod. The reel is also very different in the way that it is not actually meant for reeling in it is just meant to hold the line and keep it from going everywhere. The line is made of tough braided or monofilament line wrapped in waterproof plastic. The lures that you use are imitations of bugs that can be found in water and land.

The technique in fly fishing is really one of the most important things about fly fishing. You have to put the fly in the water then do a roll cast which is just to get the fly out there with enough line to cast. Then you will lift the fly out of the water and bring the rod to 2 o’clock then to 10 o’clock and repeat while letting out some line each time until there is enough to cast. You will next do a thing called stripping, it is when you take the line then pull with your hand jerking the fly in the water. Once the fly gets about 10 feet away you whip it out of the water and repeat the casting motion.

When you catch a fish it is one of the coolest things you will ever see. the fly floats on top the water and as you are stripping it the fish swims up to the fly and ingulfs it and jumps out of the water. You will then need to set the hook as you would in other kinds of fishing then start pulling the line in. Once you get it to the boat, dock , shore you will pull the fish up and take the hook, send the fish back and keep having fun.

fly fishing is better than deep sea fishing, because it takes so much more skill. It is also a lot more fun because because you are fighting with a more flexible rod and reeling in the line with your hand. When you are fly fishing, most the time your fly floats on top the water so you get to watch the fish hit it.
